The accident took place at around 3 p.m. on Vermont Route 14, near Mill Road.

Police say Tanner Atwood, 28, of Irasburg, had stopped after a vehicle in front of him stopped because of the whiteout conditions.

Tracy Ulrich, 37, of Wolcott, who had been following Atwood was able to see he was stopped and was able to stop as well.

Madelyn Sinon, 51, of Morrisville, who had been following Ulrich, believed they were still moving in traffic. She struck the rear end of Ulrich’s vehicle, which then struck the rear end of Atwood’s vehicle.

Police say Sinon, and passengers in two of the vehicles were transported to North Country Hospital for evaluation after the crash.

Orleans, Barton and Newport Ambulances arrived to transport the patients.

Orleans and Irasburg Fire Department were on scene due to leaking fluids.
