Car stolen in Newport Center – Vandalism in Irasburg

policebeatNEWPORT — Police are looking to speak to anyone who may have information about two separate incidents that occurred in the past few days, where one man had his vehicle stolen, and another his payloaders vandalized.

Yesterday, Terry Verdon, 39, of Newport Center, called to report his 2005, blue Hyundai Elantra taken from his residence located at 2718 Lake Road. The theft occurred between 11:30 p.m. last night, and 5:00 a.m. this morning. The registration on the vehicle is VT EWA926.

Also yesterday, at 12:43 p.m., Robert Lawson, 63, of Irasburg, called to report vandalism to his and Reginald Riendeau’s payloaders which were parked off of the Back Coventry Road in Irasburg.

All the glass in the tractors had been smashed out. The vandalism occurred sometime between Saturday and Monday.

Anyone with any information on either of these two incidents, is asked to call the Vermont State Police, Derby Barracks, and 802-334-8881.
